Navigation

We've organized our website into 6 major sections, all accessible from every page. Once you have selected one of the 6 main sections you will find the detailed navigation for that section on the left side. The menu on the left side expands, allowing you to see more of the topics included in that section. All pages on the website include the date of the last review.

The main navigation bar also has buttons for "Home", " About Us", "Contact Us", and "French". You can always return to the home page by clicking the Home button at the top of each page.

If you can't find the information you're looking for, try our search engine. You will find a search button at the very top of every page.

Browser requirements

Our site works best with browser versions Netscape 6 + and Internet Explorer 5 +. If you are having problems viewing our website you might have an older browser version. To download the latest version of Netscape or Internet Explorer.

PDF documents

Some of the Canadian Cancer Society Research Institute documents are available in Adobe PDF format. This is a universal file format that allows you to read, print or download a document while maintaining the fonts, graphics and general format of the document. To view a PDF document, you must have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. If you don't have it, you can download Acrobat Reader for free from Adobe's website. Once you've downloaded and installed Acrobat Reader, it should open automatically whenever you want to look at a PDF file.

MP3 file formats

An MP3 file is a standard technology and format for compressing a sound sequence, such as a song, into a very small file while preserving good sound quality. MP3 files can be downloaded to your computer from this and other sites, but in order to play them you must have an MP3 player. You may already have one built into your computer's operating system. Otherwise, you can use your favourite search engine to search for "MP3 Player". Your search results should yield a number of popular MP3 sites, any of which will allow you to download an MP3 player free of charge.

Printer friendly

For best results printing pages from our website, look for the "printer friendly" icon at the top right of every page. Clicking this icon will take you to a page that is specially formatted for easy printing. To print, click on the "File" menu at the top of your browser window and then select "Print". This will launch your computer's printer function.
